RotaDent Toothbrush & Brush Heads

This line holds the ProCare rechargeable handle and nine replacement heads. Each head is cut for a particular handle family, so a ProCare owner, a Contour owner and someone still using a Classic, Legacy or Plus handle each choose from a different subset of the same list.

After the handle, tip profile is what separates one head from the next. A short tip or short point covers ordinary daily brushing, long and elongated tips carry the bristles past brackets and bridgework, and the hollow and flat hollow profiles are for brushing near crowns and other dental restorations.

How to choose a head within this line

RotaDent ProCare Rotary Electric Toothbrush

Start from the handle, or start over

Without a handle yet, the ProCare is where this line begins: the box pairs the handle with a dock charger and two heads, so the first replacement can wait. Classic, Legacy and Plus heads make sense only if one of those older handles is already in the bathroom, since they are matched to those models rather than to the ProCare.

RotaDent ProCare Long-Tip Brush Head

Tip length for brackets and bridgework

A long tip puts the bristles farther from the handle, which suits braces, multi-unit fixed bridges and large spaces between teeth. ProCare and Contour owners have two long-tip heads, this pink one and a white elongated version. Plus owners have the Plus long-tip pair, and Classic owners get the elongated pointy heads for hard-to-reach areas.

Most heads in this line come one to a pack. Two exceptions change how often you reorder: the Plus long-tip heads ship as a pair, and the elongated pointy heads for the Classic come six to a box, which covers several changes from a single order.

Fit questions about replacement heads

Will the ProCare short-tip head go on a Contour handle?
Contour is not among the handles named for it. The short-tip head is matched to ProCare models and ruled out for Classic and Plus. A Contour owner has four heads that name that handle: the hollow tip, the flat hollow head and the two long-tip heads, pink and white.
Do the elongated pointy heads fit a Legacy handle?
Their fit names the Classic handle only. For a Legacy handle, choose one of the two heads that name it: the Legacy/Classic short point head or the Classic short tip head.
What separates the pink and white long-tip heads?
Both are elongated long-tip heads that fit ProCare and Contour handles, and color is the visible difference. The pink head is aimed at braces, multi-unit fixed bridges and large spaces between teeth, and it is ruled out for Classic and Plus. The white head comes one per pack and is ruled out for Classic, Legacy and Plus handles.
Which heads are meant for brushing around dental restorations?
Two profiles: the hollow-tip head for ProCare and Contour handles, and the flat hollow head for the Contour. Classic and Plus handles take neither. On a Classic or Legacy handle, the Classic short tip head reaches between teeth and along the gumline. Ask your dentist which profile suits a particular crown or bridge.
